The summer August recess is here and the lawmakers are back in their constituencies. This is an opportunity for us to meet with them and address our issues and present solutions in preparation for the upcoming CIR. We must push for our agenda to get our provisions in the base bill as CIR is being drafted currently. If we do not get our provisions in the base bill then it is much harder to get them attached to the bill in the form of amendments.
IV therefore requests its members, to call up and start scheduling lawmaker meetings NOW. Please take appointment with your local lawmakers of both houses of Congress. You can find more information about how to reach your lawmaker guide that we have on the website, http://immigrationvoice.org/media/HowTo_Guide_MeetLawmakers.doc
The State Chapters will be organizing state level calls to coordinate this effort. You will be given detailed instructions and given documents to carry for these meetings. If you do not have a state chapter in your state, please join a nearby state chapter. You will be verified and included. Anonymous and unverified members are not given access to state chapters. Also one strange thing observed was that I have a receipt # SRC07264**** and my wife's case has a receipt # SRC07266****. Also we received the receipt notices 2 days apart.

Yes even our received dates are different, mine was Sep 28 and my wife's was Sep 27. Receipt #s are SRC07285**** and SRC07284**** respectively.

I need help !!!! I am a Electrical Engineering , but I joined a Indian consultant and my H1b is approved. I am working as system admin for past 2 years. I want to apply my GC in EB2 catogory.. Can some 1 advise me what to do or how to proceed with this. I am very much confused because I am not so comfortable with EB3.
Please advise !!!!!!!!

what is your online status after RFE. Does online status change to "RFE" from "Received and pending" once we get RFE. My employer dont tell me much about my I140 status or RFE but I have receipt number. I can check online

Friends, we sent our h1b extension application in Jul 12 th to Vermont (VSC) and got receipt with in a week but still under process. now it is showing processing datge Apr 2007, can we convert to premium processing now ?. Thanks,:confused:

Folks,
What is the best and most cost effective way to send some money home ?
Till last year I was using the service from icici and was under the belief that the exchange rate was pretty decent. the service I believe was never free as they make up for service fee though the exchange rate.
Today for example when I check on icici it says they will give a rate of 47.63 per $ which I believe means around half a rupee less per $ ?
so for $1000 they are essentially charging Rs 500 (aound $10)
I beleive previously they were giving around 25 paise less per $ and now it looks like it is 50 paise less per dollor ?
Western union charges $15 and also gives a lower exchange rate than icici.
So would that mean ICICI isthe best cost effective one ?
Ideas ?

AP expiry doesn't mean out of status. If paroled into US and the I-485 is in process means no problem.
But if you are on EAD and not renewed EAD means, you can't work till you have received a new EAD.
AP need only going abroad. IT IS BETTER TO HAVE IN HAND, FOR USING AN EMERGENCY TRAVEL.

I am just wondering if kaiserrose can get his wife an EAD as well - doesn't that make both on AOS-pending status?
that requires his wife to first file a I-485 for herself, and she can only do that once his PD is current (EB3 INdia is at 2001, he is at 2003 so thats not possible right now)

If you have filed for I-485 and you have your receipt # (starting with LIN) and you have a copy of the encashed check or the proof of the financial transaction (could be you, your employer or lawyer) and the online status says I-485 Adjustment of Status pending, then you have nothing to worry about. If you had moved or changed your address it may have been misplaced. But you have nothing to worry about if the checks are cashed and you have the Receipt #.
